A difficult match, but we prepared well and we are ready to give everything to get back to winning ways. These were the words of coach Claudio Ranieri in the press conference on the eve of Cagliari-Empoli, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday 2 October, at the Sardegna Arena (kick-off at 15:00).

The rossoblùs come from two consecutive defeats, against Salernitana (1-2) and Atalanta (3-1), and need to react to climb the standings. Empoli, on the other hand, are in better shape, having won three of their last five matches.

Ranieri is aware of the difficulties of the match, but he is confident in his team: "Empoli is a well-organized team, with good players. They are coming to Cagliari to get a result, but we are ready to fight for the three points. We have prepared well for the match and we know what we have to do to win. We need to be compact and aggressive, and we need to take our chances.".

The coach also spoke about the mercato, which closed yesterday: "We have made some important signings, players with experience and quality. I am happy with the squad at my disposal, and I am sure that we can achieve our goals. Now we have to focus on the next match and give our all to get back to winning ways.".
