Oilers Stay Alive With Game 1 Penalty Kill Heroics
Clutch kill in Vancouver keeps second-round series alive
Edmonton Oilers penalty kill shines as they defeat Vancouver Canucks 3-0 in Game 1
The Edmonton Oilers are one step closer to advancing to the Western Conference Finals coming off a Game 1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. The Oilers penalty kill unit was a major factor in the victory, stopping the Canucks on all four of their power play opportunities.
The Oilers also got a strong performance from goaltender Mike Smith, who stopped all 25 shots he faced. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each had a goal and an assist for the Oilers, while Zach Hyman added a goal of his own.
The Oilers will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Canucks in Game 2 on Friday.
